  • Presentation of the final draft National Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) to the Hon’ble Members of the National Assembly and National Council.

    On 5th September, 2014, the National Task Force for the revision of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) presented the final draft NBSAP to the Environment and Urban Development Committee (EUDC) of the National Assembly and Natural Resources and Environment Committee (NREC) of the National Council. The objective of the presentation was to create awareness and update the members of the parliament on the revised NBSAP.  It was also to receive feedback and comments to strengthen the strategic action plan.

    The revision of the NBSAP is carried out by the National Task Force, under the coordination of National Biodiversity Centre through a series of stakeholder consultations. The revised NBSAP has 20 national biodiversity targets, which are in line with the national priorities and global biodiversity targets. The NBSAP once endorsed by the government will become the national guiding document for biodiversity management.

  • Presentation of the final draft National Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) to the RNR-GNHC Committee

    The final draft National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) was presented to the RNR-GNH committee on 4th September 2014 at MoAF conference hall. The current NBSAP is the 3rd revised version of the Biodiversity Action Plan. The document was re

     years, under the coordination of National Biodiversity Centre. Revision is undertaken in line with the principle of maintaining a “living” document which takes into account the changing needs and priorities of the country in biodiversity management. It also demonstrates the national commitment to global efforts in biodiversity management by aligning the national targets with the global Aichi Biodiversity targets, which was endorsed by the heads of the countries in 2010 during the 10th COP at Nagoya, Japan.vised through a series of consultations amongst the national task force members and stakeholder workshops over a period of two

    The draft NBSAP was presented to the RNR-GNH committee, the highest decision making body under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests for endorsement of the national biodiversity targets and implementation framework. It was also to solicit further comments to strengthen the action plan and seek guidance on next step for government endorsement and mainstreaming. The NBSAP once endorsed by the government will become the national guiding document to biodiversity management.

  • Inviting comments on the final draft of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan

    ​National Biodiversity Centre is pleased to inform that the National Tas​k Force for the revision of NBSAP has completed revising the document and incorporating comments received from the national stakeholder workshop. Therefore, this is the final upload of the document for feedback which ca be sent to National Biodiversity Centre through email at sangaydema@moaf.gov.bt. The last date to receive feedback/comment is 15th September 2014.
