
The National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) participated in Rhododendron Week, held at Sheyteymi, Merak, joining in the celebration of Bhutan’s rich rhododendron diversity.

During the event, NBC organized several activities and outreach initiatives, including:
- Bioblitz: Engaging the public in documenting the biodiversity of the region through citizen science.
- Guided Walks: Leading participants through rhododendron habitats to learn about species identification and ecological significance.
- Plant Identification and Herbarium Specimen Preparation Workshop: Teaching participants how to identify rhododendron species and prepare herbarium specimens for scientific collections.
- Information Display Stalls: Showcasing NBC’s conservation initiatives and sharing information about Bhutan’s biodiversity.
- Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) and Bioprospecting Products: Presenting sustainable products derived from Bhutan’s natural resources, highlighting the importance of equitable and sustainable use.
