    National Bird Month

    Greetings Birder/Bird enthusiasts,

    Greetings Birder/Bird enthusiasts, Bhutan Biodiversity Portal is pleased to announce Bhutan’s First National Bird Month. National bird month will be observed from 17th April to 17th May 2023 to appreciate the pivotal role birds play in an ecosystem and also to acknowledge the bird enthusiast in conserving these magnificent species.

    To participate in National Bird Month;

    • Register in the Bhutan Biodiversity portal accessible at https://biodiversity.bt
    • Upload Bird observations/photos in the portal during National Bird Month (17th April- 17th Mat 2023).
    • Stand a chance to win an attractive prize.

    Top 3 bird observation contributors in Bhutan will be awarded field gears along with a certificate of appreciation.

    Top 10 observation contributors will be awarded with a certificate of appreciation.

    Executive Order for Implementation of the Biodiversity Rules & Regulations 2023

    For the implementation of Biodiversity Rules & Regulations 2023 of the Biodiversity Act of Bhutan 2022, executive orders in both Dzongkha and English is being issued after it has been endorsed and adopted by the Competent National Authority (CNA) on 13th February 2023. The Biodiversity Rules & Regulations 2023 will come into force from 16th February 2023 and it shall supersede all the executive orders and circulars which are inconsistent with the Act and the Rules and Regulations.

  • Registration for training workshop on Biodiversity, Biopiracy and its relevance to Tourism

    The centre with collaboration with Department of Tourism will be conducting 2 days training workshop on Biodiversity, Biopiracy and its relevance to Tourism in Bhutan. The first batch will be on 7th and 8th November 2022 and second batch on 9th and 10th November 2022.

    50 tour guides will be selected for each batch. Preference will be given to senior tour guides and those who have passed the readiness assessment test. The registration will be closed on 4th November 2022 (5 PM).
