

24 April 2026, Thimphu: Faculty members from Royal Thimphu College (RTC) visited the National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) on 24 April 2026 as part of a consultation process to review and strengthen the curriculum of the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Management Programme.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure that the academic programme remains relevant, contemporary, and aligned with national priorities in biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, and nature-based solutions. The consultation also aimed to enhance collaboration between academia and national technical agencies working in the field of biodiversity and environmental management.
During the meeting, faculty members and NBC professionals engaged in detailed discussions on curriculum content, practical training components, and emerging areas such as biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, bioeconomy, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management. NBC team also shared insights from ongoing national programmes and field experiences, which could be incorporated into teaching modules to enrich student learning outcomes
This engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening academic–policy linkages and ensuring that Bhutan’s future environmental professionals are well-prepared to contribute effectively to sustainable development and biodiversity conservation efforts.
