As per the decision of the 133rd Lhengye Zhungtshog held on 20th June, 2017, The Interim Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Policy of Bhutan 2015 has been adopted as the Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) Policy of Bhutan, 2015. The ABS Policy shall be in use until the revision of Biodiversity Act of Bhutan 2003.
Further, the ABS Policy shall serve as a basis for making decisions on any proposal for Access to Genetic Resources and associated Traditional Knowledge and Benefit-Sharing arising from its Research and Commercial Utilization.
