17 April 2026, Thimphu: A group of 50 Class XII students from the Royal Academy visited the National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) today as part of an educational exposure to Bhutan’s biodiversity conservation efforts.
The visit began with a presentation on the Centre’s core mandates and functions, providing students with an overview of NBC’s role in biodiversity conservation, sustainable use, and research in Bhutan.
Following the presentation, the students toured NBC’s facilities and laboratories, gaining firsthand insight into the Centre’s programmes and technical work.
The visit then continued to the Royal Botanical Garden Serbithang, where the students explored the Biodiversity Interpretation Centre, Orchidarium, and other garden facilities. This provided a unique opportunity to experience Bhutan’s rich plant diversity and conservation efforts in a natural setting.
