First week of August 2025 | Online | Open to Bhutanese participants
Are you part of an agency, research institution, or civil society group that holds biodiversity data?
We are excited to announce an upcoming webinar on “Biodiversity Data Mobilisation and Publishing: Tools, Standards, and Regional Opportunities,” jointly organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), in collaboration with Bhutan’s National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) and the National Mushroom Centre (NMC).
This virtual event will be held in the first week of August 2025 (exact date to be confirmed) and is aimed at institutions and professionals in Bhutan who manage or generate biodiversity-related data.
What to Expect:
- Insights on data publishing in open-access platforms such as GBIF
- Real-world experience sharing from Bhutanese institutions that have published biodiversity datasets
- Introduction to Darwin Core standards and the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT)
- Guidance on how your institution can become a data publisher
- Discussion on the research and policy value of open biodiversity data
Note: This is not a technical training, but an orientation and knowledge-sharing event designed to inspire institutions and professionals to take the next step in biodiversity data mobilisation.
