22 May 2026: On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, the National Biodiversity Centre is pleased to announce the winners of the Wild Bhutan Challenge 2026.
The Challenge was conducted from 1 April to 15 May 2026 to promote biodiversity documentation and strengthen citizen science participation across Bhutan through the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal.

The winners for โHighest Number of Observationsโ and โMost Identifications Contributedโ were directly extracted from the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal based on validated observations and identifications during the challenge period. The โMost Unique Observationโ category was selected through expert review and discussion of notable records, while โBest Photographyโ was evaluated by a panel based on predefined assessment criteria.
