The National Biodiversity Centre under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is pleased to announce a ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ-๐๐š๐ฒ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ (๐๐๐), ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‹๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

This programme is designed for registered and certified tour guides and tour operators who regularly interact with Bhutanโ€™s rich biodiversity and can play an important role in documenting and conserving it.

๐Ž๐›๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž

  • Enhance awareness on biodiversity conservation initiatives in Bhutan
  • Introduce participants to the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal and promote citizen-based biodiversity documentation
  • Provide hands-on training on recording and uploading species observations
  • Build understanding of relevant biodiversity legislations including the Biodiversity Act of Bhutan 2022 and the Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Policy 2015
  • Encourage responsible biodiversity documentation and strengthen collaboration with the tourism sector

Participants will learn about:

  • Biodiversity conservation in Bhutan and the role of NBC
  • Access and Benefit Sharing: Global Perspective and National Measures
  • Introduction to plant taxonomy and invasive alien species
  • Mushroom diversity, documentation, and photography
  • Hands-on training on the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal
  • Awareness on CITES and biosecurity measures
  • Visits to biodiversity conservation programmes at NBC
  • Interactive quiz, prizes and certificate award

Participation is open to registered/certified tour guides and tour operators.

๐‹๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐จ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž: Only the first 50 registered participants will be selected.
